SFContario 2010 Enabling Resolution
The Society will host a general science fiction convention known as "SFContario" in the Toronto area in the fall of 2010. The chair of the convention will be Alexander von Thorn.
The mission of this convention will be as follows:
"SFContario will celebrate the best of science fiction and fantasy. This will include the content of literature, media, and visual arts, the educational and academic aspects of science and culture, and the participatory and social aspects such as costuming, gaming, filking, fanzines, online fandom, and other fannish activities."
The convention is expected to be financially self-supporting. The Society may, at the discretion of the board of directors, offer funding to cover startup costs and/or potential shortfalls of revenue versus expenses. The board of directors will have approval of the convention's budget, major facilities contract, and any other expense items over $5,000.
The chair of the convention will have sole authority to appoint members of the convention committee to organize the event.
This enabling resolution may be amended at a general meeting of the Society.
